Today is the coolest day. Jay got up early and took me into town before my shift. (I'm doing a 2:30-20:00 today for overtime.) We walked down to Wild Side and looked at all the lizards and Jay put his name down on the list for a frilled dragon when they become available. It'll cost us £150ish  but we'd LOVE one. Then, we walked downtown and Jay went into HMV to play while I went shopping at WH Smith at my employer's expense.

I won £70 worth of vouchers 'cause I worked during the holiday period and £15 of it was for Smith's. Now, £15 won't buy many books at Smith's but I did get to get the next instalment of Paper Crafts and pick up one of the Eddings books I'm missing. (Plus a gift for a friend and Model Mart for Jay.)

When I caught up with Jay, he'd already picked out a few dvds that he wanted and told me I could get Disturbed if they had it. And they did! Yay! I got the new Disturbed. (Plus, the Magic Roundabout!) Then, we went to the deli for lunch and he drove me to work. It was just the nicest start to the day.

The first part of work has just flown by because I was so excited and now I have an hour and a half break. Whoot.

Did I mention that I have the best husband in the world? Well, I do.

The other day, I was going through major chocolate cravings (you know, ON.) and I was explaining the difference between men and women to Jay. "Men," I explained, "Are like, 'Oh, I'd like some chocolate now.' Women, on the other hand, are like, 'OMG. I NEED chocolate and I need it NOW.'" And, he is just so awesome, that the very next day he brought me home a big candy bar. :) Isn't that sweet?

We had a fun and funky weekend.

Friday, Jay took me to the movies. We went to see Underworld: Evolution and I really enjoyed it. Jay didn't really think much of it but I thought it was better than the first one. Anywho...

Saturday, I had to work, which sucked. But I found this funny: I got in trouble for using "my angry voice." *insert confused look here* Apparently, I said exactly the RIGHT thing but used too angry a voice and got in trouble. Only me.

Sunday, Jay had to work but I had the day off. It would have been nice except my MIL was in a really grouchy mood and complained about everything that I did. Still, the laundry got done so it was a useful day. Lol. (It takes FOREVER to dry laundry when your dryer fuses the whole house and the clothes line blew down last week.)

Yesterday, we cancelled Club so I had the whole day to myself to sit around watching Paramount comedy. Yay. Then, Jay and I played a bunch of quizzes and watched the wrestling.

All in all, not a bad few days. I'm back in work now for the next SIX days in a row which blows majorly because Jay's managed to get most of the week off. But, the next convention is only a few weeks away so I need the overtime!

Crap... I'm late...

Update: 19.23

Okay, so I wanted to post a few opinions about things:

1. Supernatural just started yesterday. It's a mini series and one of the main stars is the guy who played Alec in Dark Angel. That alone made me watch it. Omg. The effects were fabulous and it really frightened me. Wish it was longer!

2. Vampire High. Jay made me watch this on the Horror Channel and I was glad that he did. It's no Buffy but it's fun to watch. It's about a group of teenage(ish) vampires who've been sent to this posh school to learn to NOT kill every human they meet to ensure the survival of their species. Cool idea. It reminds me vaguely of The Kindred.

3.  David Boreanaz slipped nicely into his new role on Bones. He's pretty much Angel without the fangs. I'm not really into the whole crime drama thing, though, so if it wasn't for Boreanaz, I wouldn't give Bones the time of day.

4. The Blooding. Just read this last week. It's about an American girl who comes to Britain to be an au pair. (Rushed to the dictionary.... Apparently an au pair is a teenage girl who travels abroad to babysit and receives free lodge and board in return. Who knew?) Not the best werewolf novel I've read but it was fun to read something from an American perspective in the UK.

5. Get Rich or Die Tryin'..... ZzZzZzZzZz. Honestly. It just didn't hold my attention at all. Sorry, 50.

6. Underworld: Evolution was great. As action packed as the first one with more of a plot, a few tears and some nookie. Can't beat that. Jay pointed out a few flaws that I missed but I still loved it.

Xanga Post: Sunday, January 15, 2006

So I worked until 2:45 this morning. Then I stayed up to watch this awful zombie movie with Jay. (The best part was when the cat ate the old woman.) Then, I went to bed for three hours and got back up at 8. I spent thirty minutes huddled in front of the new heater trying to warm up. ('Cause I broke the last heater when I tripped over it.)

Sue and I headed out for a car boot sale at Tredegar House which turned out to be about seven cars and three times as many shoppers. We ditched that and went to the one in Cardiff instead where I picked up a buttload of buttons for £1.20. Sweet.

Then we went shopping and I almost took a nap in the middle of the bread aisle because I was SO TIRED and Sue just kept talking to people. I finally made it home and into bed where I got to stay for about two minutes until I remembered that the one thing Jay asked me to pick up, I forgot. So...

It was back into the cold to pick them up. Back home and back into bed where I was allowed to stay until Jay kicked me out of bed an hour later. I'm tired. But I have buttons. And I made awesome enchiladas.

I saw the funniest thing on Weakest Link today. (It was yesterdays Weakest Link but Jay recorded it for me because I was working, of course.) This guy was wearing a shirt that said, "Freeze Mofo, Where's my 50p?" For some reason, that killed me.

Oh, on a related funny matter, Sweep ate Sue's lipstick. Again. I swear that dog's a transvestite.

I also got Jacque and Pierre today, two new gnomes for the garden. :) (Sue forbid me to, of course, which is why I got two.)
