It's been difficult lately to find a horror movie (of decent quality) that we haven't seen. Last night, Jay went on to YouTube and started searching for trailers. He came up with Summer Camp.
Summer Camp follows three Americans who have travelled to Spain to work at a camp set in an old villa. It's the day before the campers are due. Last minute preparations are going on to get the place ready - starting with getting the water supply back up and running. Just when it looks like they've got everything set and all they have to do is get some serious necking in before the kids arrive.
That, of course, is when all hell breaks loose.
This one is all about the misdirection. You can never be sure who the baddie is, what's causing the infection tearing through the countryside, or how they're all going to die. (Yeah... don't expect any happy endings.) Summer Camp sets you up and lets you down so many times you stop waiting for it - which is when it gets you.
If you liked the raged out "zombies" of 28 Days Later, you'll enjoy this one too. Maybe more, even since it's comical in places and, as my husband said, is "just fucking off it."
